Chongben Honors College Conducts Benchmarking Visits to Xiuzhong College (Tsinghua University), Yuanpei College (Peking University), and Xuteli College (Beijing Institute of Technology)

To gain in-depth insights into best practices for cultivating top-notch innovative talents and further enhance educational outcomes, a delegation from Chongben College at Ocean University of China, led by Dean Gao Huiwang, visited Xiuzhong College (Tsinghua University), Yuanpei College (Peking University), and Xuteli College (Beijing Institute of Technology) from November 25 to 26 for research and exchange.

At Xiuzhong College Tsinghua University,dean Hu Hongying provided a comprehensive overview of the college’s talent cultivation philosophy, objectives, distinctive features, and educational achievements. He elaborated on Xiuzhong’s practical approaches to nurturing global leaders in green development. Zhu Dejun, Deputy Director of Tsinghua’s College Management Center, introduced the history and key characteristics of the university’s collegiate system.


  


At Yuanpei College Peking University, the delegation, led by Gao Huiwang, toured the college's distinctive residential college facilities. They gained detailed insights into its unique developmental programs, which utilize specialized spaces such as seminar rooms, libraries, cinemas, gyms, music rooms, and dance studios. The visit allowed them to experience firsthand Yuanpei's collegiate culture that champions personalized student development and encourages self-exploration.During the discussion forum, Dean Li Meng provided an overview of the college's history and educational distinctiveness.


  


At Xuteli College Beijing Institute of Technology, the delegation, led by Gao Huiwang, first visited the college's cultural exhibition. Subsequently, Wang Junzheng, Executive Vice Dean of Xuteli College, provided a comprehensive overview of the institution, covering its historical development, organizational structure, and educational approaches with outcomes. He particularly highlighted several distinctive training models: the integrated operation of three colleges: Xuteli College, Future Precision Engineering Technology College, and Outstanding Engineers College/ the seamless undergraduate-to-doctoral training system/ the academician-guided mentorship program.

Both parties engaged in dynamic discussions focusing on selection criteria for top students, curriculum system optimization, faculty team development and domestic and international collaboration. A cooperation agreement was reached regarding student exchange programs for practical training.
